Chinese medicine has evolved from age-old tradition and knowledge going back over two thousand years. The West has always tended to underestimate its benefits, pitching it against modern science and technological discoveries. Meanwhile, Westerners are increasingly turning to the principles of Chinese medicine when searching for a cure to their ailments. Paul Pitchford studied this ancient knowledge with some of the great masters, and combined it with modern knowledge of nutrition to bring us Healing with Whole Foods. The book is a meeting point of cultures and philosophies, guiding the reader towards the kind of well-being in which food has a key role to play, and every meal becomes a gift we give our body.
