Pat Williams is considered to be one of the best motivational and inspirational speakers in the USA. Born in Philadelphia on the 3rd of May 1940, he grew up in nearby Wilmington, Delaware, where he attended Tower Hill School. In 2001, he was inducted into the Delaware Sports Hall of Fame. After 12 seasons as general manager of the Philadelphia 76ers, Williams moved to Central Florida, where he continued to work in professional basketball, and is now the senior vice president of Orlando Magic. He has written over 40 books, including Making Magic, which is his personal account of how the Orlando Magic team came to be.
