Why has Sampdoria’s victory in the 90/91 championship remained so engraved upon the hearts of so many? Why is the story of this team’s success still so important today? In this book, Roberto Mancini and Gianluca Vialli, who both played a vital role in Sampdoria’s Scudetto win, describe this extraordinary experience, talking about football, but also about human relationships and friendships, about the struggle to achieve an objective, and about the historical changes that affect us all. Mancini and Vialli praise the club’s former president and visionary businessman, Paolo Mantovani, and the team’s great coach, Vujadin Boškov, a man of few words, who was able to carefully observe a person’s soul and spirit, and identify its strengths and weaknesses.
