Hyrum W. Smith founded the Franklin Covey Company in 1983. The company is a world leader in helping organisations achieve results that require lasting changes in human behaviour, and among their most successful products are the courses and seminars on productivity development, including the famous Franklin Day Planner. Smith has written several acclaimed books, including Managing Personal Change (1998), The 10 Natural Rules for Successful Time and Life Management (1994), and What Matters Most (2001). Smith was also a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter-day Saints in England. In 1966, he married Gail Cooper and became the father of six children. In 1971, he received his BA in Business Administration from Brigham Young University.
